Regardless of the type of dog we are talking about. House Pet, Competition, Agility, Therapy, Shutzhund or Police K9, all of these dogs have one aspect in common. That are all dogs! Dogs are individuals just like their human counterpart. They training they receive must be geared to the temperament of the individual.
My responsibility as your dog trainer is to teach you how to effectively communicate to your canine counterpart. It is your responsibility as their owner to make yourself the center of your dog's world.
If your desire is to have a well-trained dog, you must build a solid foundation; develop a lasting bond and relationship with your dog.
Puppy training includes 4 private lessons, as well as puppy playtime and socialization events for the life of your pet. Puppy classes are NOT obedience training but preventative training. By enrolling early in the puppy's life, unwanted behaviors like biting, obnoxious barking, jumping up, digging, pulling on the leash and destructive chewing can be prevented. Housebreaking, crate training, canine nutrition, health care tasks, play and clicker training are included.
Puppy socialization begins around 3 weeks old and ends around 16 weeks old. The main aspect of this period is social play. Social investigation, playful fighting and playful sexual behavior are very important to developing social relationships during its life. New behavior patterns are directly influenced by the puppy's interactions with its mother and other puppies in the litter. The temperament, character and behavior habits of your puppy are developed during this period and after you bring the puppy home. A puppy requires discipline, consistency and the patience of its owner. The puppy training phase is integral in raising a healthy and well-adjusted dog and keeping a safe and fun home environment.
